Elvira
Elvira started our here as a resident and was in Med School at the local university up until a couple months ago. She chose to take the quarter off in order to be with her son more during the day. She's now a worker here and one of my running partners. She can be pretty timid and shy around people she doesn't know and when it comes to disciplining the girls because she used to be one of them. However, she has the most determination out of all the girls here. Since the first day we started running, every morning since she's always asked, are we going to run today? Of course I can't say no because I know how sore my legs have been so hers have to hurt even more because she just started running. But she won't give up! Which makes me determined to not give up either. She's super motivating that way. Did I mention that she's absolutely beautiful? She's a mix of Indian and Asian, like most Peruvians but she definitely stands out among the rest of the women here. While we were walking to get the kids from school the other day, she was looking at a house for sale and mentioned that she wanted to buy a house for her and her son. Seven years ago, when she was pregnant with her son I bet she never imagined being where she is today. With her looks, intelligence, and determination, I picture her marrying a doctor and living the best possible life with a husband and their kids. She also asked me if I would live in Peru forever. I had a hard time saying no, even thought I know I'd never be able to. This life is all she knows, it would be so hard to explain that I don't think I'd be able to get used to this forever.
